Surfaces, an urban art expo is situated in the “Quartier des Spectacles” in downtown Montreal on a stretch of street known as the Promenade des Artistes. It is a unique exhibition which features 16 of the cities most popular urban artists for all to enjoy in the open air, all day, 7 days a week!
All of the expo’s art is original and created by Montreal artists. Usually we find this type of art in small alleyways and side streets. It’s great to find a variety of representation that can be enjoyed in one single spot. For locals like me, it’s nice to come out and support our artists and it’s a great opportunity for tourists to experience Montreal’s burgeoning graffiti art scene. The project features a variety of well-known local artists such as Miss Me, Her, Shalak Attack and Garbage Beauty, just to name a few.
This art expo will be available until October 28, so there’s still plenty of time to take a look at some unique art pieces.
