Junost (for “youth”) is my one of my favourite places to hang out with friends during lunch or for meetings and appointments.
It’s a small 2-storey restaurant with very friendly owners and staff, with an atmosphere that feels like home. The interior contributes to that — from the wall decoration to the lighting. They even have a bathtub for some mysterious reason on the 2nd floor.
The food is “homemade” at its best. It’s beautifully tasty, inexpensive, and the dishes are decently sized. Don’t miss the “You burger” and their delicious pastrami, best served inside a “Famous Pastrami burger”. Their black hummus, soups and salads are also good. For the drinks, they don’t offer many beers or wines, but locals come here for the unusual cocktails (I personally like the Cherry Ronko).
Occasionally they organize some activities like grilling kebabs outside, serving “weekend catch” or collectively watching sports events.
