The ‘Pekarnya’ bakery (which actually means ‘bakery’ in Russian) is located on Novokuznetskaya street, one of the finest and the most important streets in Zamoskvorechye district. I learned about this place thanks to my friend who worked not far away from this spot, and was glad to know that it’s like the place near my work, where almost all my colleagues buy pastry for some events, or just for a snack. So, there are at least two such bakeries in town.
Inside there are large glass showcases filled with all kinds of pastry. Here you may find some traditional things like, for example, shanezhka (open pastry with filling), little sweet rolls with berries and fruit (I like the blackberry and banana rolls most of all), pizza and pies. In fact, there are a lot of things here, one cannot even count them all. It’s nice to buy pastry here when you’re just passing by, or want to treat your family, friends, or colleagues.
Inside there are a few tables for those busy people who can’t wait, and want to get their meal at this very moment. They just buy some snacks and hot beverages like coffee or tea, and just stand at the tall tables enjoying their snack.
The main thing one should know about is that everything here looks so delicious, and is sold at such an affordable price, that you can never get enough of it.
