Viktualienmarkt is a must-see in Munich and eating something fine is a must-do for all visitors of the city. Let me introduce you to this classical and well-known fish restaurant for the locals. The motto of the restaurant is “If it swims, we have it!”
Fisch Witte is actually a gourmet-stand for fish and fish-related products and they operate a small restaurant (4-5 tables) at the back. Have a seat and enjoy a fine fish soup rich in diverse seafoods and have some white wine (I would recommend Lugana, but this is your choice) or have some champagne, it is Munich after all. Have a look around – you will be probably the only non local at a table. Look at the older Bavarian generation for whom a lunch at Viktualienmarkt is a traditional meeting spot.
Price category is upscale, so expect to pay about € 60 – € 70 for 2 persons for lunch and wine. Always call and book a table, walk-by is also possible if you avoid the lunch time (12:00 – 14:00) and the early dinner time (18:00 – 20:00).
