This is my ultimate most favourite place to get a coffee or espresso in Munich and I love it. It is a true Italian coffee place in the center of the city. It is small, it is loud, it is full of people (but you can always find a small spot to sit), it has a simple menu – coffee and some cakes — and it has real Italians as staff!
I really like the place because although it is in the middle of the most touristic part of Munich (Karlsplatz and Neuhausener Straße), it is tucked away in a quiet corner (the entrance is from Herzog-Wilhelm-Straße) and really authentic. I have been a couple of times to Rome and I would say that this place is as close as “true Italian” as it can get.
In the summer you can also sit at one of the few tables outside and enjoy the sun or just people-watch if you are into this.
