As a little girl, I was introduced to the magical world of antiques and flea markets by my grandfather. Together we wandered through the chill air of dewy spring mornings to find little treasures from the past. And while the beginning of autumn always indicated the end of the flea market season, over a decade later, things have changed up a bit.
Nowadays, I’m thrilled by the fact that flea markets start at 17:00 – so you can sleep in on Saturday – and that they take place in halls – which means vintage shopping all year round! Midnightbazar, I should have invented you!
After paying a small entrance fee, tons of cool stuff, clothes, vinyls and bits and bobs are waiting for you. DJs or Bands will be playing, usually the flea market crew sells snacks, and of course you can buy beer and other drinks.
Flea markets will take place every other Saturday, check their homepage or facebook for dates and changing locations. If you can’t get enough of second hand shopping at night or you haven’t found the perfect bargain yet, try the Nachtkonsum in the meantime (similar concept but different host and location).
Getting nostalgic over some well-known records from your teenage years, having the best time buying redundant stuff for less than € 1, or finding über-hyped trends that are sold out everywhere else – Midnightbazar has it all!
