Rumrich is a well-established small shop in Haidhausen that sells outdoor equipment at fantastic prices. They are focused on climbing and bouldering and, during winter, on off-piste skiing.
But it is much more about the clothing than the hardware that they offer, and a lot of people seem to go there especially to find the right climbing shoes. Every time I’m there, at least, people are walking around, stepping up some holds attached to the door and vividly discussing the appropriate size and type of climbing shoe for them.
I’m not a climber and I’m not a free-rider but I have been regularly shopping all sorts of things there over the last years: tents, sleeping bags, shorts, hiking boots, bags, iso mats, a rucksack, rain jackets, a gas stove, headlamps, T-shirts… This is because they have a small but very good selection of outdoor equipment at unbeatable prices — even compared to web offers — and a sales team that knows a lot. A friend of mine goes there only for their perfect selection of merino wool underwear.
