Up in Bavaria – The secret spot

Ok, get ready for something that very few people really know about. It is the ultimate tip for the city of Munich and I really love the reactions of people when they come there for the first time…

Bavaria is one of the symbols of Munich and a lot of tours around the city will show the large statue on Theresienwiese to visitors. However, what very few know is that you can actually climb into the head of the statue and have a look from there! It is really awesome and I would also say it’s special to be there.

During Oktoberfest you have to expect long waiting times and queues, as a lot of people will try to get up, but you will get an amazing view from the top, so it is totally worth it.

Funny thing – the hill around the Bavaria is called “Leihenwiese” by the locals, as all of the tourists like to sleep off the strong Bavarian beer there when they have too much of it…

Now it is the best time to visit the Bavaria, as there are very few people going there.
