‘Wuid’ is the Bavarian word for ‘wild’. It’s very hard to pronounce, if you are not a native speaker, but it’s not very hard to access the restaurant and bar. It’s located in the nice area of Untergiesing next to one of my favorite Döner and Köfte spots, called ‘Türkitch‘.
Good to know that something is happening in this area and Wuid contributes to this development. It combines Bavarian tradition with modern simplicity. The interior is very dark and minimalistic. No unnecessary accessories disturb the atmosphere. Especially during the cold season I enjoy the homelike interior, which invites for a longer stay.
Keep it simple is the device for the food as well. The menu is quite different from other restaurants and every dish has its own name. Here are some examples:
WUIDERA – a fried potato salad
DIRNDL DREAM – fried goat cheese on vegetables (vegetarian)
GEBIRGSJAGERER – spicy Rigatoni with crispy ginger prawns
DA KINI – Bavarian burger
My conclusion: get an impression of how inventive Bavarian food can be.
