Like every other New Yorker (and probably everyone else on the planet by now), I love sushi. It's delicious, healthy, and not something I'm going to whip up at home on a Tuesday, so it's worth eating out. But unless you have a big bank account, it's tough to join in the raw fish fun in the big city. A bowl of ramen is usually a better fit with my budget.
However, if you're willing to head out to Queens at lunchtime, Watawa in Astoria is a great choice. Like a lot of Japanese restaurants they have a weekday lunch special that's hard to beat. For only $ 11 you get two rolls, soup, and salad. However, the real appeal is that this incredible bargain is also available on Saturday. That's right, you can wake up late, roll out of bed, and slowly make your way to a fresh lunch to help you get over whatever happened on Friday night. There's not even a rush, because the deal lasts all the way until 16:00. Order a few sakes and before you know it, Saturday night has arrived, and you're ready for another weekend night in NYC.

In every New York city church with music I've explored, I've found those qualities at churches in Harlem. Gospel music moves me like few other things can.
