ABC Cocina in the Flatiron District of New York City is one of my favorite restaurants because it combines two of my favorite things: local, seasonal, farm to table ingredients and Latin American fusion cuisine. Top that off with a killer drink menu with a separate section just for their amazing margaritas, and a fantastic brunch menu as well, and that pretty much settles it — ABC Cocina is practically perfect in every way.
Another wonderful thing about the menu at ABC Cocina is that it is designed to be shared. The menu is divided into sections by how the dishes are prepared- Table Snacks, Light and Bright, Masa and Tortillas, Grilled and Roasted, and Rice. It’s worth trying one in each section if you’re hungry. The dishes change preparations with the seasons; you’ll find guacamole year round, but in the summer they feature a local sweet pea twist on the guac you know and love. The tacos here are excellent, some of the best in New York City. My favorite dish at ABC Cocina is the Arroz con Pollo. At brunch, it’s hard for me to pass up the Crunchy Mexican Spiced French Toast because it’s that good. Also, if you have food allergies, ABC Cocina is great about being sensitive to your needs.
ABC Cocina is open pretty much all day, so I highly recommend heading over there any time you’re in the mood for a feast. You will definitely not leave ABC Cocina hungry!
