The Chelsea neighborhood of New York City is home to a huge number of coffee shops, but Bean and Bean is the one I consistently go to and spend lots of time in. It has everything you need in an ideal coffee shop: great coffee, yummy food options, ample comfortable seating, and good WiFi.
The menu contains your typical coffee shops favorites, but also a great assortment of single origin pour overs, which is liquid gold to coffee snobs. I love Hawaiian Kona, but it’s very hard to find single origin pour over Kona anywhere, let alone New York City, but they have it, along with some other rare single origins, like Jamaican Blue Mountain. The honey latte is a nice mix-up for espresso drinkers, and tea drinkers will also find a welcoming assortment of teas. You’ll find quality breakfast pastries and avocado, almond butter, and Greek yogurt toasts, plus a variety of sandwiches available, so a ton of food options to go with your coffee. They also have a thoughtful list of beer and wine available so you can enjoy some happy hour festivities along with your caffeine buzz. It’s the perfect spot in New York City for a pick-me-up at any time of the day!
