Fifth Ave is famous for holiday displays throughout the winter season. My personal favorite is Bergdorf Goodman, where the windows cleverly interweave the latest fashions with over-the-top holiday themes. This year’s theme is Bergdorf Goodies, which is a candy-inspired fantasy! The windows will draw you into worlds of cotton candy confections, peppermint celebrations, a gingerbread cottage, and a lollipop disco! Inside, the decorations continue with Bergdorf Goodman’s traditional all-white Christmas tree with rustic-chic touches. Its a great store to explore. With 125 years of operation, Bergdorf Goodman is a New York institution!
I find Bergdorf Goodman to be the best holiday window experience because of its creative storytelling, but also because it is not nearly as crowded as other parts of Fifth Ave. If the holiday spirit compels you, continue south to see all of the window displays lining Fifth Ave. You’ll walk past Tiffany’s, Cartier, Saks Fifth Avenue, and culminating at the world-famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Or, venture north towards Central Park where you can enjoy ice skating at the Wollman rink.
