Whenever people think of barbecue, they think “down south” in Texas or Tennessee. NOT New York. But Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a Harlem staple and has the best BBQ in town! Located at the tail end of Harlem’s 125th Street, this BBQ joint is flavorful and tender; everything can be eaten with a fork as the meat just falls right off the bone. Their homemade BBQ sauces are delicious and mac & cheese is perfection. Don’t be afraid to stuff your face, Dinosaur sits right off the Hudson River Greenway so you can walk it off and take in a great view of the George Washington Bridge.
Perfect for a “messy” BBQ date, Dinosaur BBQ also offers The Sweetheart Deal, which includes a full rack of ribs and four sides to share. Sad to admit that I have ditched the date and ordered the Sweetheart Deal knowing I’ll have leftovers for the next day.
Go early during the weekday or make reservations at least a few days ahead. It’s as if all of New York City knows this is the best BBQ in town and it shows by their long wait times.
