The island of Manhattan is loaded with an incredible waterfront, but nothing can match the amazing Hudson River Park. Stretching all along the western side of Manhattan along the Hudson River from Midwtown West to TriBeca, this park has so much to do, from kayaking to sunbathing to restaurants, and tons of kid friendly activities too!
Unlike much of its East River counterpart, you can walk along the Hudson River on the West Side of Manhattan for most of the way. Along the path you’ll see amazing views of New Jersey and the NYC skyline. There are tons of piers on the water to relax and catch an ocean breeze.
Chelsea Piers offers bowling and skating options. There’s a carousel, playground, and splash zones where kiddos will have a blast. And there is lots of greenspace to relax and take in the views of the water and NYC architecture. Getting hungry or thirsty? There is everything from sit-down restaurants to grab and go options, and lots of bars right on the Hudson River river to wet your whistle. I love to go and read along the pier near my place on 23rd Street, but if I’m feeling competitive I head down to the south end of the park for some mini-golf. There is an activity for everyone here, whether it’s biking down the bike path or chilling and taking in the city views!
