Nitehawk Cinema, with one location in the Williamsburg neighborhood and another in the Prospect Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City, is so much more than just a movie theater.
First of all, you won’t find the usual blockbusters you find at most theaters. Instead, you’ll find a selection of first-run indie films. Nitehawk also frequently shows classic films, from Jaws to Vertigo to The Maltese Falcon. Many seasons/months have themes to the classic films the run; for example, expect to see a great selection of horror films around Halloween.
The other great thing about Nitehawk? They have a huge menu of delicious food and drink (that includes alcohol!) that you can order throughout the movie right to your seat! Early weekend showings have some brunch options too, and there are always special menu items for the movies they’re showing. But fear not, you will also find your typical movie concessions, like popcorn and candy bars on the menu.
Have little ones in tow? Nitehawk has showings of family friendly films too, so take your kiddos with you! For a different kind of late night experience, there are also tons of late night shows. I love the food and cocktails so much at Nitehawk, I sometimes just head to the bar downstairs, Lo-Res, so I can have my favorite cocktail, the Fire Walk With Me. Many of the drinks feature locally made liquors and wines.
It’s hands down the greatest place to see a film in New York City!
