This Southern fusion restaurant is great to visit any time, but personally I like the night scene more. When people think of night life, they think they have to be somewhat dressed up, but Soco is a restaurant where you can dress casual or semi-casual. It is great on a date night or for a family dinner with the kids.
Soco can be on the expensive side but the food and service you receive is definitely worth it. The food is made well and full of flavors and captures the essence of soul food. I love the chicken and red velvet waffles. Chicken and waffles is a meal that many restaurants serve but what makes Soco’s better than the others is how flavorful their red velvet waffle is. It tastes just like red velvet cake and is so fluffy and delicate. The chicken is tender and juicy. The mac and cheese is cheesy with a bit of kick.
Not only is the food good, the drinks are good too. My sister had the Mardi Gras and the Hibiscus Agave Margarita drinks. She really enjoyed it and definitely recommends it.
When in Fort Greene, stop by Soco, enjoy the food, the drinks, and the amazing atmosphere!
