Alight with the magic of twinkle lights and hot toddies, New York City becomes a magical place during the holidays! My most anticipated holiday tradition is joining my girlfriends for an evening at the Union Square Holiday Market, where we brave the winter cold to browse the stalls and shop for Christmas gifts.
New York City boasts a number of Holiday Markets throughout the city, but the market at Union Square is my absolute favorite. Located right in the heart of Manhattan, the Union Square Holiday Market is bustling with hundreds of vendors, food stalls, and excited shoppers. I recommend seeking out the vendors with unique artisan goods, where you will be sure to find a one-of-a-kind gift. I love visiting the spice stall, where baskets of spices are laid out in the most beautiful array of colors and smells. There is a jewelry stand that incorporates antique materials like Dutch tile and Victorian glass into creative necklace designs. And of course I love the food stalls, where I always indulge in a delicious Belgian waffle and hot chocolate!
Heat lamps are located throughout the market so you can stay toasty warm throughout your shopping spree. Union Square is also surrounded by a number of restaurants, cafes, and bars, so there are many options for warming up with a snack after your shopping!
Union Square Holiday Market opens on November 15th this year and closes on December 24th.
