Billigkiosken in Årvoll is one of the oldest kiosks in Oslo. As its name implies (cheap kiosk) it sells goods at reasonable prices. From candies and chocolates to ice cream, sodas, and coffee to go, as well as newspapers, flowers, and handpicked berries in the summer. But most importantly, Billigkiosken is known for its hotdogs. It sells maybe the best hot dogs in town and it has rendered itself an institution in the area. Billigkiosken is also popular among kids and teenagers mostly for the candies that are sold in small units.

Sadly enough, most of the kiosks in Oslo have closed as a result of the expansion of the most commercial and modern type big chains in shopping centers. But clearly, Billigkiosken has stood the test of time and is one of the few family businesses that still remain. It is worth giving it a try if you happen to be in the neighborhood!
