You’d never find Brutus if you didn’t already know about it. Tucked away between Grønland and Tøyen, Brutus is situated in an otherwise residential street, away from the more bustling and busy areas.
I found Brutus while searching for a corner shop to pick up a parcel I had received and I noticed that there was a chef standing in the middle of the residential dead-end street trying to light a half-barrel BBQ. After enquiring if this was a one-off event, he casually told me this was the custom every evening and pointed towards Brutus on the corner.
Every evening, they light up the barbecue on the street (weather dependent) and the place is alive with Oslo locals who come out to enjoy this wine and tapas bar.
They serve food until 30 minutes after midnight and are open from 17:00 every day of the week. Reserve a table for a guaranteed spot or turn up and start your evening at the bar.
