Everybody who has Googled “things to do in Oslo” before arriving would know that Grunnerløkka is the area to go to for cool hipster bars, cafes, vintage shops and markets.
But once you’re there it’s difficult to know where to go and there is a lot of variety and levels of “hipster” to explore.
One of my favourite spots to go to in Grunnerløkka is Chair – it’s a bar on the main street which, simply put, has amazing cocktails, and specializes in gin and tonics. I’m not talking extravagant and over the top cocktails with half a pineapple protruding from the top, but for those who love a well-balanced cocktail with interesting and unique combinations, it’s the place to go.
I’ve often taken a few colleagues after work, as it’s a great place that balances good drinks and chilled out lounge music, hitting the sweet spot after a day of work (or sightseeing?!).
I’d definitely make it one of your stops in Grunnerløkka!
