Colonel Mustard is one of my favourite pubs in Oslo. It’s just out of the city centre, giving it a more neighborhood vibe. There are plenty of tables and comfy couches, and it has that shabby-chic, I-could-be-in-my-mate’s-living-room kind of feel. That is if your mate’s living room had a bar with an impressive range of beers on tap, and even more bottled varieties. The food at Colonel Mustard is really tasty and reasonably priced, as far as meals in Oslo go.
The main thing that sets Colonel Mustard apart is its theme. The pub is named for a Cluedo character (Clue for you North Americans playing at home), and you go there to play. There are stacks of retro board games everywhere, both English language and Norwegian, and miraculously none of the pieces ever seem to be missing. It makes for a great icebreaker, and really sets the mood – Colonel Mustard is always full of playful shouts and laughter.
