Kamai has an upmarket (and more expensive) restaurant and a cute cocktail bar but for me the small cafe facing the street was the perfect size. The decor is bang-on Løkka and the kitchen turns out Asian style steamed buns (bao) and various types of sushi until 22:00. The staff were really helpful and squeezed us in at the end of the night, taking our food order from the bar to make sure we got fed before the kitchen closed.
Both the sushi rolls and sashimi were top quality and well presented. The steamed buns (pork, fish or veggie) worked really well with the Asian beers on tap and are very good value at about 80kr. The Buns & Chips combo at 185kr in particular was a favourite, especially the pork.
Pop in for a casual bite with some friends, get cosy and enjoy the tasty food and relaxed atmosphere for reasonable prices. They also do takeaway via foodora for when I don’t fancy leaving home.
