I love Thai food, and ever since visiting Thailand in 2007 I have been looking for places that serve those simple yet flavourful dished that could be found on the streets of Thailand. This unassuming spot is one of the places that take me back to Thailand with the smells and tastes of the Thai kitchen.
Mew’s is a tiny place, take-away only, along the busy street Trondheimsveien. The menu is on the wall, and they offer all the classics — from spring rolls and satay chicken to curries and fried rice. You can choose between different meats and scampi in most dishes. You also get to choose the level of spiciness, with good help from the people who work there.
The food is cooked to order, but is worth the wait. When it is done, you can take it back to your accommodation or, if it’s a nice day, eat it in Torshovdalen, a large green park 5 mins away.
