Tijuana – Mexican fire

The massive Mexican food hype that took the city by storm a couple of years ago are starting to die down, but places like Taco Republica and Tijuana are still serving up bundles of tacos to a hungry crowd.

Tijuana serves up what us Northerners believe to be the real deal, the authentic Mexican cuisine, and none of that wannabe tex-mex stuff. Whether or not that’s completely true, this is as close as you’ll ever get to a true Mexican feast in Oslo. I can highly recommend the guacamole, as well as the fish tacos, and the somewhat exotic cactus version.

The salsa is on fire, and you can drown it with either a set tequila pairing, or a fruity margarita. Tijuana has one drawback though, and it’s a big one: a tasteless ambience.

I really hope they will up the ante on the interior, because right now I’d rather eat with a blindfold on. Still, it can’t be that bad – since I just keep on returning.
