Vega Snackbar is essentially, for me, just a really cool place to hang out. Vega is actually an art cinema and a small theatre spot that supports and showcases up and coming new dramas. VegaSnackbar is adjacent to the cinema and is often frequented by theatre enthusiasts and artists.
This bar and cafe caters for everything, whether it’s a coffee and a wee snack, or a full-on meal, they’ve got you covered. Their mantra is “green”, so much of the food available is short-travelled, organic and sustainability-minded, sourced from local vendors. If you fancy seeing a movie or show, they also sell fab cinema snacks!
Of course, there ain’t no snackbar without a bar: they offer a great range of wine, beer and cocktails for after you’re done with your movie.
Saying that, I like to come here during the daytime when I need a positive and creative environment to work on my projects, but not a place that’s too crowded and so bustling that it’s distracting. I really just find it a great place to hang out in Oslo. I would imagine it will give the fascinated wanderer a place to spend a quiet hour or two researching their next spot to visit in Norway!
