In 2015 the Paris municipality started an artistic project to give value and cultural initiatives to the neglected area along the train tracks in the north of Paris. This is how the “Rosa Parks makes the wall” project started. A few street art artists were invited to decorate the 400 meter long walls in the rue Aubervilliers and the theme was to be around the themes of nondiscrimination, equal rights and peace. The NGO Hypermur organized the event and this left a great artistic wall in an area that usually does not attract a lot of visitors.

It is not in an area where you will pass by when visiting other places, but it is definitely worth the trip by metro or bike to this part of the city. The best option is to take the Metro until Stalingrad stop where you can get to using lines 2, 5 and 7, then walk up Aubervilliers street. You need to walk half of the street up to get to the first graffiti but then it is a continuous wall covered with art.
