I was meeting friends on a Sunday for a birthday brunch in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. We ended up in Bistro Brune.
We were supposed to go somewhere else where the birthday girl had decided she wanted to have a brunch for her special celebration. But brunches being very trendy at the moment, we had not booked beforehand and there were no seats available.
They saw us in despair and were nice enough to check with another restaurant closeby with a similar brunch whether they had a free table for us and there it was! Luckily for our angry stomachs. That’s how we ended in Bistrot Brune.
After seating on the terrace and choosing our main dishes and cold beverage, we got to go inside and choose among the myriad of sweet and savory things to try — from mini pastries and desserts to mini quiches, rolls, and salads. There’s a lot of choices and it’s more than good. Don’t be scared of the ‘mini’ size of what’s on the buffet as two dishes are included in the brunch with a freshly squeezed juice of your choice and unlimited hot beverages.
After 2 hours spent there, we left and gave our seats to hungry newcomers.
It’s not the cheapest brunch I’ve tried in Paris, but it’s definitely one of the tastiest!
