In a gorgeous city like Paris, every once in a while it is absolutely necessary to treat yourself to a breakfast that is not only delicious, but also aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It could hardly be anywhere else but around the corner from the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens, an elegant park icon of Left Bank.
Bread & Roses is as simple and lovely as its name: this tea salon and bakery is decorated in warm colors, and has a delicate creamy rose with a pink rim on each table. It offers breakfasts and lunch meals, all to be accompanied with bread from their own bakery next door, or, better yet, pastries. The carrot cake is decorated with fragile petals carved from carrots, and tastes heavenly.
I love breakfast more than any other meal of the day, and Bread&Roses is the place to make a celebration out of it. It is also perfect for a romantic breakfast date, which can be followed by a walk in the Luxembourg Gardens with a coffee and croissant as a take-away dessert.
