My favorite address for snacks in Montmartre is often a small pastry shop located on rue Lepic that’s famous for its sweet tarts. Already unavoidable in normal times, it is true that with these getting days more and more grey, they become a real remedy to the melancholy!
It’s a pretty little old-fashioned store with windows full of the prettiest fruit tarts in Paris catch the eye immediately. Simple recipes that highlight the fruits of the moment with no toppings other than good butter and sugar. But the magic of these pies is the pastry itself, all fine and caramelized by the baking. Established in 1991, it is today the Didda children who take care of their parents’ pastry shop.
The place is also rightly known for its savory pies and cookies that they have been offering for over 20 years. But it is the sweet pies that I prefer and their mixture of fruits: mirabelle plums, pears, blueberries, rhubarb, raspberry, orange… A perfect balance between sourness and sweetness and a festival of tastes and colors!
