A colleague of mine first brought me to Sgabetti. I must admit I came thinking it would be yet another Italian place in Paris where the pasta is ok, and the rest is more like an out of the jar meal than a freshly cooked one. But I was wrong.
The place is nice, although the tables are too close to have a private conversation at, but this is normal in central Paris, so one needs to get used to it. On the other hand, the food was extremely good. We had a plate of Parma ham which was delicious and then a focaccia and a pizza. I saw from the next table someone eating the so called “Antipasti Italiano”, which was an enormous plate full of all type of vegetables, cheese, ham and olives that one can imagine. This alone would make a meal!
Modern style, there are some tables to sit outside if you want to have a cigarette. Definitely a good place to stop by if you are visiting the Trocadero-Arc de triumph area.
