There is so, so much to love about EAT Café. A non-profit restaurant that is here for the greater West Philly community, EAT Café is a healthy and mindful ally in the fight against food insecurity. Customers are served a fresh and thoughtful three course meal with a suggested donation price of $15. The employees are paid a fair hourly wage, and there’s no tipping – they simply ask that you take your extra money and pay it forward for the next meal.
The menu changes every day, so as to keep everything as fresh as possible. Watch their Facebook and website for updates. The last time I went, the menu was North African-inspired, and I ate every bite! Absolutely delicious.
As many as 1 in 4 Philadelphians don’t know where their next meal is coming from – EAT Café is doing an amazing job to combat that. So to my travelers and locals on a shoestring budget, all are welcome, so that none are hungry.
