I absolutely adore Jezabel’s. A sweet little bistro in the heart of Fitler Square, Jezabel’s is my new favorite place for an Argentinian breakfast and the paper. Listed at $ 8.50, the “Argentinian Breakfast” included a generous fresh squeezed orange juice, a warm croissant with ham and cheese, and a big cafe con leche.
What I love about the croissants here is the Latin American flavor – what is it exactly? They are slightly sweeter, and less flaky than their French counterparts, perhaps. This bistro is absolutely gorgeous in the summer, with open windows and greenery all around. Still, the first time I went was in the dead of winter and Jezabel’s still held its charm.
Nearby is Fitler Square (aka the mini Rittenhouse Square) and the Schuylkill River Trail with a great dog park. This area is mostly residential, but still one of my favorite neighborhoods to walk around as the streets are quiet and the houses have a quirky, old-Philly style flair.
