Rain or shine every Tuesday & Thursday from March 24th until November 18th, on the Navy Yard Marine Parade Grounds, a line of multiple local food trucks deliver good eats and a lovely atmosphere to their patrons. Parking is available on surrounding streets, and picnic benches and tables provide seating on an expansive field of green grass bordered by monumental trees and historic buildings.

The lineup consists of a rotating list of food trucks that are regularly posted throughout Philly, so this is a great spot to try a few top trucks at once. The more memorable truck dishes have been Foolish Waffles’ mango ginger waffle, Vernalicious’ pulled pork grilled cheese, the Bonjour Creperie’s strawberry-banana Nutella crepe, pierogis at Mom Moms Polish Food Cart, Gigi and Big R’s oxtail platter, and the daily specials from The Flying Deutschman.

These trucks present fresh and flavorful food bringing diverse options for everyone’s taste. I love to come here with a few friends so we can all get to sample something different, and delight in the park-like backdrop of the Navy Yard. When I finish up lunch, I usually take a cruise around to see the handsome work that is going into renovation of the yard, its buildings, naval ships, and new construction.
