I can remember my first Sex Dwarf experience; it is one I won’t forget and one I am sure you won’t either. When I was first invited to Sex Dwarf, I wondered, what have I gotten myself into? Much to my surprise I learned Sex Dwarf is the name of an 80s song by Soft Cell, and now an 80s dance party in Philadelphia named after the song that happens the second Friday of every month at Club Mousai. They usually always have a theme, so you are encouraged to dress the part. My first visit was wig night where everyone wore wigs and danced all night long. I am not one to have wigs laying about, but not to fear because they provided them. It was my first punk 80s dance party and it was pure heaven.

Since then I have attended many of their parties and they just keep getting better. They have become quite known for their prom themed dance party where you wear your vintage prom clothes like you were back in high school getting up the courage to ask that person from across the room to dance. You don’t have to worry about that here though, since everyone dances with everyone and the dance floor becomes one big dancing frenzy. This is your one time a month when you can just let loose and pretend you are young again, except this time you are even way cooler than your own kids.
