Some time ago I found out that there is a Japanese corner in Podgorica. Honestly, that was a surprising fact for me, since Japan is so far away and at first glance it doesn’t have any similarities with Montenegro. But, isn’t it a great idea to promote some country somewhere where it is less known?
Japanese Corner is a place that functions mostly as a library where you can borrow books about Japan (for free) and also as a reading corner. Of course, this is not the only activity. This association organizes courses of origami, Japanese language, lectures on Japanese culture and politics, gastronomy, exhibitions, movie projections… In the Japanese corner you can also get information about scholarships and training opportunities in Japan, borrow professional literature etc.
The overall atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing. The interior is of course in Japanese style, cozy, with lots of details and souvenirs. Definitely something different and worth visiting.
