Sports Center Morača is a sports hall in Podgorica. The hall is located on the right bank of the river Morača, after which it was named. Work on the construction of the hall began in 1978, and there are numerous sports facilities on its surface of 4ha. The large hall is the main indoor hall in Podgorica. It is home to the basketball team Budućnost Podgorica, volleyball club Budućnost Podgorica, handball club Budućnost Podgorica and women handball club Budućnost Podgorica, as well as a representative selection of Montenegro in various sports. The 6 preliminary matches of the European basketball championship in 2005 were played here. Beside the sports competitions, the hall also hosts numerous concerts and events.
Sport is very important to Montenegrins, especially football and women handball (our girls are among the best in Europe). I have to admit that I am not big fan of sports. What I find interesting about this hall is its architecture. The unusual form differentiates it from other buildings nearby and makes it very eye-catching.
