Porto now has a fine offer in (ham)burger restaurants. Of course I’m not talking about McD’s or B.Kings and so on. I’m talking about real meat and tasty burgers.
Downtown, close to Praça Filipa de Lencastre, there are now several burger restaurants. “Baixa Burger” is one of those. There is almost no decoration, but as in this street there are many wood-related businesses, the walls are covered with wood pallets, giving a somewhat warm atmosphere.
The burgers aren’t cheap, but are quite well served. Not only are they made of good quality meat, but the quantity is satisfactory (I think it’s 170g). Fries and sauce are included. I asked for the one with Portobello mushrooms and it was indeed very good. The fries are real tasty potatoes.
Apart from water and sodas, they also have fresh lemonade or sangria. A very good thing is that they are open every day until 02:00, perfect for a bite in between bars, but it can be quite crowded.
They also have takeaway, and recently have opened a new location in (posh) Aviz block (Rua Pedro Homem de Melo, 242), near Foz, where I usually go just because it’s more convenient for me.
