Quality cocktail bars are not the easiest to come across in this city. There’s plenty of Caipirinha in all shapes and sizes. Your average Cuba Libre, your run of the mill Gin&Tonic – those too are everywhere. But a bar with an extensive and inventive list of cocktails is not quite so easy to find. And that’s one of the things that makes Fica na Rua worthy of note.
If you’re in the mood for a Tom Collins, a Journalist or pretty much any classic cocktail that comes to mind, head on over to this place. If you’re up for trying something new, go for the owner’s signature creation, the Almada 349 – a gin based cocktail. Alternatively, I’d say indulge in a Portuguese liqueur like Ginjinha or Amarguinha. Whatever your choice of booze, you can enjoy it in the intimate and cozy environment that Fica na Rua provides.
Rua do Almada is home to this establishment and appropriately so – it’s an eclectic street and this is an eclectic bar. It’s one of the very, very few places where you can listen to classical music during the day which makes it perfect for a chilled afternoon. But there’s also blues, jazz and great old-school classics. More often than not, on Fridays there’s live music and the atmosphere is really cool – this is also when it gets jam-packed and it might be harder to find a table. Nonetheless, whether you’re looking for an evening of relaxation or a fun night out – it’s worth trying!
