Cake, the magical word that makes everyone raise their eyebrows and smile whenever one hears it. I'm, of course, no exception on that, so whenever I feel like having a proper, delicious and generous portion, undoubtedly I go to Pimenta Rosa, a café inside the - not so mainstream, yet cool and retro - Miguel Bombarda’s Comercial Center.
This café has such a homely feel to it, with a simple, cosy décor that makes you lose track of time, while indulging in some cake and fresh juice or tea. Luckily I've been attending a photography course nearby, so my early dinner on Tuesdays has been a slice of this heavenly cake and some tea. Lucky me or what?!
These delicious sweets or salty snacks served at Pimenta Rosa are fresh and homemade, making the smell of cake coming right out of the oven, a characteristic of that place, as it is one of the main attractions and is always one of the variety still hot.
Cake portions are delicious, huge and quite cheap for what you get. They serve them in a several combinations, my favorites being the cinnamon and apple, the nut and, of course, the chocolate one. Don't miss it!
If cake isn’t your trigger, let me advise you that homemade slices of pizza, quiche, and the desserts among others are amazing as well.
During weekdays they serve economical lunch menus, from which you can choose as they have several options, including a vegetarian one.
Enjoy!
