Sometimes there are days when I just want to sit back, relax and have a cup of tea. There is no better place to enjoy one with your friends than in a nice and cosy tearoom. A Maze in Tchaiovna is one of the best choices, and there are many reasons why. The interior looks like you never left your living room and the bookshelves, board games, the old radio and their collection of vinyl records makes you really feel it, too. The place is very interesting, because there are many hidden rooms that you have to find and it seems like a real maze for a while.

They are serving the best teas from all around the world, some snacks, sandwiches and salads, and also the popular “shisha” (water pipe) that you can find in every tearoom. Moreover, there are plenty of interesting events that are organized every day. The idea of the place is to connect expats and locals, and the majority of the events are held in English. You can come and enjoy concerts, theatre plays, bazaars, Czech lessons, public readings and the very popular “Tea Talks”, similar idea as Ted Talks about interesting topics from various speakers.

The owners – a half-Czech half-American and his wife, are trying to keep this place so special and it requires hard work and great will. That is exactly why places like this have that exceptional energy and I always like to visit them.
