Do you know the feeling when you jump on your bike and step deep onto the pedals along a beautiful river, leaving all other people (tourists!) behind and just go with the wind… to have a great cup of coffee! Why all this bike-river-no people-coffee drama? As a bicycle amateur myself, I found out about Café Periferie during one of my wheeled weekend trips around Prague. And I fell in love immediately.
If you’re a coffee enthusiast in Prague, you can easily find great spots in the city centre and around, but on the edge of the city? That’s really something! So be aware, they’re gonna serve you amazing batch cold brew filter coffee from one of the Czech local roasteries such as La Bohéme Café, Candycane Coffee or Doubleshot; stuff you with great seasonal snacks and end it with hip Czech sweets – definitely try their teeny-tiny ‘vosí hnízdo’ (which means wasp nest – traditional Christmas deliciousness) or hand-made ice cream.
Make yourself comfortable in their lovely industrial-inspired interior or at one of the deck chairs with the view on the historical neighborhood with indispensable panel house in the back and enjoy the village atmosphere, despite the fact you’re still 25 minutes from the city centre. It’s especially perfect for lazy afternoons together with favourite books.
And in case you’re not the bike-type, just take the tram to ‘Přístaviště’ and enjoy the beautiful river views and a little walk. Let’s hit the road!
