Vltava River plays quite a big role in the life of the city of Prague. People love to go to Náplavka for a beer or snack, to sit down and feed the ducks, to watch the river… and they also love to have fun there.
There are many boats parked in the Prague centre and lots of them are restaurants, lots of them are botels, some of them are shelters for homeless people (really), and some of them are just waiting for something.
And then there is the Cargo Gallery.
Cargo Gallery is a special boat. It is a 68m long former cargo ship (that is still capable of moving) changed into a multifunctional space with two bars and outside and inside rooms for art and shows of a different kind, and there can be up to 400 people at once. There are theaters, art shows, concerts and workshops. And parties. Summer parties.
The biggest summer parties so far are held here in August – there is a weekend full of dance workshops and parties 10th to 12th August, and then the MEGA LATINO PARTY slash Brazilian Carnival comes on 18th August. Cargo Gallery just spends August partying and dancing, it seems.
