Everybody who has come to Prague has gone to Staroměstské náměstí. There´s the Astronomical clock and the Old Town Square Tower and the restaurants and all the tourist traps. And then there is Dům u Minuty (also called Skautský institut). It is a house at the centre of everything where you can, unexpectedly, relax for a local price.
Actually it is about five houses connected together and I just love it. Just find your way inside and explore the house and its corridors and try a beer at the hostel-style pub and watch the busy central square under your feet… and then go out, to the porch, and search for the stairs and go up and up…
…and come to a beautiful terrace with a special view to a yard. Did you bring your beer or wine here? Yes? Great. Because you can sit here and enjoy the rooftop and Gothic windows and lie down on the crazy wooden beds or sit by a table.
We’ve come here by chance and spent more than two hours just enjoying the roofs and trying to figure out how many houses are connected together here. No success. If you figure this out, please let me know!
