Every summer weekend in the city park, right when the lights turn off in the sky, a projector turns on and plays a significant movie for a remarkable audience. A group of young activists found a way to bring everyone closer together by arranging an enormous playdate for the youth of Prishtina. You create your own playground with anything that you think is fun. You may bring a football, a guitar, a ping pong table or maybe a canvas to capture the beauty of it all. The options are boundless.
The gathering starts sometime in the chill of the afternoon, when people can start to acquaint themselves and share their thoughts with one another or squander about under this green umbrella.
There’s a narrow, steep corridor of trees leading down to a white screen where everything takes place, and when the sun goes down it all comes together to give you the feel of the lights dimming and the movie starting in a real movie theatre. The only difference is that there are no chairs to isolate each person; you can watch the movie right from your picnic. It not only brings people closer, but also the beauty of nature and film.
