When you think about street art, it is likely that Prishtina doesn’t even cross your mind. Fine, it doesn’t cross my mind either! But there’s no guilt in that, because street art hasn’t really been Prishtina’s ‘thing’ until recently.
With the initiative of Art Development Center – Q’art, a local non-profit organization seeking to promote art in the community, more than 1000 meters of a wall located in a residential area, is now covered by kickass graffiti worth checking out.
In 2017, Q’art succeeded in becoming the national partner for “International Meeting of Styles” (MOS), an international network of graffiti artists which has had hundreds events in Europe, Asia and the Americas. During the first edition of MOS in 2017, sixty local and foreign grafitti artists from Europe, Balkans and America, gathered in Rruga B (Street B) to transform a plain wall into a work of art – literally. With no specific theme in mind, artists were free to draw anything they wanted, and they didn’t disappoint!
The second edition held last May brought 115 artworks! Here we are specifically talking about an expansion of the area from 300 meters to 1800! 1800 meters that you should definitely make sure to swing by!
