If Prishtina were to be known for one single thing – that would be the coffee culture. Cafés are always bustling with people. I wouldn’t be surprised if you find yourself wondering whether anyone works in this country… how come people have so much time to spare? Well, I don’t know, but I’m telling you they do.
Having been in this business since 2014, Lulu’s has definitely become one of the most beloved cafés in the city. During daytime, people go there to get their caffeine fix, whereas during nights they swap coffees & teas for alcoholic drinks. American products and Buddha statues found all over the place, and a wide use of cinnamon powder in coffees and teas are said to characterize this spot.
As temperatures warm up, you can chill in Lulu’s outdoor terrace. Despite being surrounded by tall apartment buildings, Lulu’s maintains (a little bit of) green space amid the concrete jungle. In summers, it gets super cozy even though you’re outside. Combine that with good company, snacks to nibble on & alcohol, and you will be winning at life I guess…
Not-so-fun fact: women’s unemployment rate in Kosovo is the highest in the region.
Fun fact: Lulu’s is a woman-owned business! #GRLPWR
