Latvijas Leļļu teātris (Latvian Puppet theater) is a very special spot for me and my family. A very private one. We have many memories here, like several years ago, when it was the place my wife took me for a great surprise on one of our first dates. Now, some time ago we took our son to see his first play there. It was amazing.
The theater itself has a rich history dating back to the year 1942. It has a significant part in Latvia’s cultural life and, I am pretty sure, in most of the locals’ lives from early childhood to great old age. As a fact, not only plays for children are performed there, some are for adult audiences too. Please don’t misinterpret me – nothing naughty.
A small museum of puppets lives in these premises for those willing to know more about the history of this theater and its most famous plays. Of course there is a cafe as well with some very special and charming treats to taste.
