Rovinj had Miró, Zadar had Warhol and from June 5th Rijeka has Marc Chagall. Situated in the Kortil Gallery of the Croatian Cultural Center on Sušak, you can visit the exhibition from June 6th to September 4th every day from 10:00 to 22:00. On the way to Kortil Gallery you can’t miss Josip Pičman’s portrait (check out the article).
People who appreciate this Russian-French artist of Belarusian-Jewish origin know his work, so I will not write about it. At the Kortil Gallery the collection has eighty graphic works and memorabilia dating from the early twenties to the mid-eighties. Through Chagall’s 93 exhibits, mostly lithographs, copperplates and woodcuts, any art enthusiast will have the opportunity to dive into the artist’s persistent commitment to Love in all its forms.
Adults tickets are 70 kn, students and pensioners (65+) 55 kn, kids (<14 years old) 35 kn, family ticket 180 kn and group ticket (+10) 50 kn.
“My hands were too soft… I had to find some special occupation, some kind of work that would not force me to turn away from the sky and the stars, that would allow me to discover the meaning of life.” (M. Chagall)
Maybe you will find the meaning of your life in Rijeka. For sure, you will fall in love with Rijeka and in Rijeka.
