When I’m gearing up for a trip outside Rome, Libreria del Viaggiatore is my first stop. This friendly bookshop embraces the traveler philosophy and carries titles that cover every region of the world with everything from travel guides and photography compendiums to novels and non-fiction.
You can find topics ranging from Armenian street food to social trekking in Sicily and everything in between. It’s strewn with almanacs, maps and globes, and also hosts rotating exhibitions in the room adjacent to its literary café.
Francesca and Luigi, who own the shop and run the Round Robin Publishing House that operates out of it, work to handpick an inspired collection that brings back the romance of books. If nothing else, this is a place that’s sure to pique your wanderlust.
